Iran's Rouhani arrives in Russia for international summit

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Russia just minutes before midnight local time on Wednesday to take part in the BRICS summit as an invited guest.
His plane touched down in the rain and cold in the remote Russian city of Ufa, originally a fortress built on the orders of Tsar Ivan the Terrible nearly 1,170 km (730 miles) southeast of Moscow, where the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will hold a two-day summit.
Rouhani will also stay for the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Ufa on Friday (July 10). Iran is an observer for an organization.
Rouhani will also meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
