Iran's Zarif talks US-Iran relations during Washington trip

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif sat down with the Council on Foreign Relations, a Washington think tank, to talk about the Islamic Republic's foreign policy and US-Iran relations.
Zarif said he was dismayed Iran was not invited to participate in international talks in Paris this week as Tehran could have played a crucial role in the war against Islamic State. He warned that the terrorist group was dangerous and that air strikes alone were not enough to destroy the militant group.
He accused the US of having an" infatuation" with sanctions: "The United States is obsessed with sanctions," he said, as he called into question their effectiveness.
