Irish troops to bolster UN forces in Golan Heights

Ireland will send more than 100 troops to bolster United Nations forces along the Syrian-Israeli border along the Golan Heights, Israel Radio reported on Thursday morning.
The countries of Fiji and Nepal will be sending soldiers as well. Their decision will be a welcomed relief to all sides involved in the wake of Austria's decision to withdraw their troops in June.
Syrian Civil War spillover has lead to heightened tensions along the border. Recently, occasional reports of stray mortar shells have floated into Israeli territory, causing fears of a possible escalation.
