Islamic Jihad says will investigate 'Israeli escalations' in Gaza

Islamic Jihad announced that the organization will launch a joint investigation with other Gaza-based factions into the "Israeli escalation, including the violations of the cease-fire agreement that was reached in Cairo."

Khader Habib, a senior Jihad official, said that "the occupation is trying to exploit Palestinian blood in order to increase the popularity of the current prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in the run-up to elections."

Habib told the Gaza-based newspaper Al-Risala that "the Palestinian factions that will convene to discuss the escalation also reserve the right to respond."
