Israel and Russia to renew, upgrade tourism agreement

Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov and his Russian counterpart Vitaly Mutko agreed on Saturday to renew and upgrade the tourism agreements signed by the countries over a decade ago, following the increase in tourism and the mutual cancellation of the visa requirement for tourists, according to a Tourism Ministry press release from Sunday. Misezhnikov recently wrapped up a five-day working visit to Russia, during which the establishment of a joint working committee to meet twice a year was also agreed upon. The committee is set to discuss various ways to promote tourism and increases cooperation between the countries, alongside initiatives in the fields of sport, youth exchanges and more.
