Israel army says it struck Hamas targets in north Gaza Strip

The Israeli military announced that it had carried out a series of airstrikes before dawn on Thursday against Hamas targets in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to a statement released by the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, air force aircraft attacked four targets deemed part of Gaza's "terrorist infrastructure."
The army said the strikes were in response to Hamas operatives opening fire at IDF troops as they were operating near the security fence which runs along the perimeters of the Gaza Strip.
"The IDF sees terrorist activities both underground and above ground as a violation of the sovereignty of the State of Israel," the statement from the army read. "The IDF holds the Hamas terror organization solely responsible for these terrorist operations."
