Israel delegation partakes in UN Forests Forum in Turkey

A delegation of Israeli leaders from the Foreign Ministry, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund and the Education Ministry began participating on Monday in the 12-day United Nations Forum on Forests, held in Istanbul, the offices said.
KKL-JNF forestry experts are participating in a roundtable discussion on forests and economic development, as well as holding a side event on the issue of forest and landscape rehabilitation in Israel, the organization noted. Israel is among 193 countries that have sent delegates to the conference this year, according to KKL-JNF.
"By means of active policies for the rehabilitation of forests, preservation, and sustainable maintenance of forests, Israel is one of the only countries in the world with more trees today than one hundred years ago," a statement from the organization said.
