Israel not interested in escalation, says IDF official

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj.-Gen. Yoav Mordechai told Palestinian news agency Ma'an on Wednesday that Israel is not interested in an escalation to the violence in the West Bank, but will respond with force to anyone who tries to deteriorate the situation.
He added that day-to-day life in the West Bank will go on as usual, that residents will still be able to go to work and that commercial traffic will remain the same.
Further, he said that Israel does not want to change the status quo of the Temple Mount.
