Israel returns smuggled Egyptian antiquities

The Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that it has handed over to Egypt two ancient relics that had illegally reached Israel.

The two Items, aging back to the Pharaonic times, were smuggled through a third country to Israel. Upon arrival to Israel the objects were immediately seized by the Israel Antiquities Authority and have been held in climate-controlled conditions since.

The Foreign Ministry handed them over to the Ambassador to Egypt, Hazem Khairat. Khairat stated that Egypt appreciated the efforts Israel has made to return the smuggles antiquities.
