Israel summons EU ambassador for reprimand after settlement labeling guidelines approved

The Foreign Ministry summoned the European Union's ambassador to Israel for a reprimand after the European Union's executive approved on Wednesday new guidelines for labeling products from Israeli settlements.
The Foreign Ministry condemned the move, which it said was motivated by politics.
The move will only serve to strengthen radical elements which boycott Israel and deny its right to exist, the Ministry added.
"This latest action raises questions about the role the European Union wishes to play, and it is liable to have consequences on relations between the EU and Israel," the Foreign Ministry warned.
