Israel to revoke residency status of east Jerusalem Palestinians involved in violence

In a series of punitive measures aimed at deterring Palestinian violence, Israel on Wednesday announced that it will revoke residency permits of east Jerusalem Arabs who perpetrate violent attacks against Israelis in the name of nationalism.
The announcement was made by Interior Minister Silvan Shalom of the ruling Likud party. Shalom's statement was first reported by Army Radio.
