Israel's Nili Block added the IFMA Muaythai World Championship title to the one she won in kickboxing last year after claiming the gold medal in the under-60 kilogram competition in Jonkoping, Sweden on Saturday.
Block defeated Irina Chernova of Ukraine in the final after previously overcoming opponents from South Africa, Austria and Russia.
Muaythai and kickboxing are similar in some respects, but there are some significant differences, with Muaythai fighters using fists, feet, knees and elbows to strike, while most kickboxing systems will only use fists and feet.
Over 2,000 athletes, officials and masters took part in the 17th IFMA Muaythai World Championship in Jonkoping. Block receives is supported by Ayelet, the Federation of Non-Olympic Competitive Sport in Israel.
