Israeli fugitive extradited from Switzerland

Israeli fugitive Erlado Farizi was extradited to Israel from Switzerland over the weekend, two years after he fled the country to escape a 30-month sentence for fraud.
Farizi fled in late 2011, after a court allowed him to delay beginning his sentence because of a death in his family. He will now serve his sentence in an Israeli prison.
Farizi was part of a four-man crew that included businessman Uri Resh, and Yehoshua Shlush, and Avi Kalmaro, that was convicted in September 2011 by the Tel Aviv District Court of forgery, fraud and customs and tax offenses committed over a decade earlier.
The men netted over $2 million from a number of international electronics suppliers. The crew used front companies to order computers from abroad, and used forged lines of credit as payment.
One of the front companies the crew used was created by Israeli businessman Elhanan Tennenbaum, who was at the time being held captive by Hezbollah after being lured to Dubai for a drug deal.
