Israeli Navy to name 6th submarine 'Dragon'

Head of the Israeli Navy Eli Sharvit said on Wednesday the new submarine to be introduced to the fleet will be named "Dragon," according to the army.

In doing so the navy walked back a former decision to name the submarine Dakar in honor of the Dakar submarine, which drowned in 1968., killing all its crew members.

The Dakar name will be given to the future generation of submarines that will be introduced to the navy in the future, the Navy said.
