Israeli windsurfer Korzits wins 3rd straight world title

Despite, or perhaps because, of the bitter disappointment at the London Olympics, Lee Korzits proved on Tuesday that she deserves a place of honor among Israel's all-time greatest athletes when she secured her third straight windsurfing world title.
Korzits opened an unassailable 21-point lead at the top of the standings after finishing Tuesday's races in the World Championships in Buzios, Brazil in first and 18th places, respectively, with fellow Israeli Ma'ayan Davidovich in second place entering Wednesday's final Medal Race.
Korzits came painfully close to winning a medal at the Olympics, dropping from second to sixth place in the final day of competition in Weymouth.
However, the 28-year-old couldn’t have begun her preparations for Rio 2016 any better this week, becoming just the second woman after France's Maud Herbert to win three consecutive world titles, with Herbert claiming five championships in total, one more than Korzits, who also won the gold in 2003.
