Italian military chief visits Israel

The Chief of the Army General Staff of the Italian Army, Gen. Claudio Graziano, arrived in Israel on Tuesday, and was greeted by IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot at military headquarters in Tel Aviv on Wednesday.

An IDF honor guard awaited Claudio at the Kirya, and Eisenkot presented his guest with a citation as a mark of appreciation for the strengthening of military relations and strategic cooperation between the two states.

During his visit, the chiefs of staff will discuss "common security challenges, the regional situation picture in the Middle East, and they will examine future military cooperation," the IDF said.
