Japan says very high radiation reading at reactor was wrong

TOKYO - The operator of Japan's strickenFukushima Daiichi nuclear plant said on Monday a very highradiation reading that had sent workers fleeing the No. 2reactor was erroneous.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) vice-presidentSakae Muto apologized for Sunday's error, which added to alarminside and outside Japan over the impact of contamination fromthe complex which was hit by an earthquake and tsunami on March11.
