JDC Israel to launch program for integration of people with disabilities in employment

The JDC-Israel has recently launched a new program aiming to promote and advance the integration of people with disabilities into employment.
The program, which is entitled “Rampa”, works within the existing employment services in the country and makes sure they are able to provide solutions for the disabled population as well.
As part of the initiative, staff working at employment centers are trained to provide optimized and accessible assistance to people with disabilities, and activities are organized with the participation of employers in order to create a favorable environment for their employment.
According to the JDC-Israel, some 110,000 young people with disabilities who live in Israel today do not work, 60% whom do wish to integrate the work force but fail to find a job.
In its first stage, “Rampa” has begun operating in five municipalities of the North:  Karmiel, Acre, Migdal HaEmek, Tiberias, and Yokneam.
