Jerusalem Arab held for severely burning his children's hands

An Arab resident of east Jerusalem was under arrest Monday for allegedly severely burning the hands of his two children, police said.
The suspect, who has been remanded in custody, put the hands of his two children on the stove-top since they "bothered him" when he was trying to sleep at the end of his work day, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
The children's father is also suspected of warning them that he would burn their feet the next time.
The two children were rushed to a Jerusalem hospital by their mother suffering from second-degree burns after their father fled their home.
A court order bars publication of the children's age or any other details which may identify the suspect.
