Jerusalem Day celebrations will include joint learning, singing, and prayers with state secular and state religious school students together. The program, called “The tribes of Israel together,” emphasizes relations between the educators and students at secular and religious schools. The program culminates with the celebration of the unification of Jerusalem.
More than 100 communities across the country will participate in the joint events. Each participating religious school will invite a nearby secular school to join in a day of learning about Jerusalem.
Some schools have planned prayer sessions, dancing, and joint field trips to Jerusalem Day parades.
AMIT Modi’in girl’s school has invited the girls of the Municipal Dalet school for an evening of learning and to compete in a quiz night about the city. The night will also feature the AMIT Modi’in boys’ school orchestra.
Petach Tikva will host a march including all the youth movements of the city. Grade seven students in Netanya will be treated to a tour of David’s City in Jerusalem.
In Haifa, celebrations will take place on the eve of Jerusalem Day and will include a parade through the streets of the city.
