Jerusalem mayor: 'Major attack' thwarted in capital

In wake of an attempted bombing in downtown Jerusalem Sunday morning by a Palestinian man, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat issued a statement saying that "thanks to the vigilance of light rail security forces of the Jerusalem municipality, a major attack was avoided."
Barkat advised the public to "continue with our routine, keep vigilant and never give in to terror. "
"We must pursue the terrorists everywhere without compromise and without restraint."
Barkat also thanked security forces on behalf of all Jerusalem residents.
