In wake of an attempted bombing in downtown Jerusalem Sunday morning by a Palestinian man, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat issued a statement saying that 'thanks to the vigilance of light rail security forces of the Jerusalem municipality, a major attack was avoided.' Barkat advised the public to 'continue with our routine, keep vigilant and never give in to terror. ' 'We must pursue the terrorists everywhere without compromise and without restraint.' Barkat also thanked security forces on behalf of all Jerusalem residents.
