BENGHAZI - A Jordanian doctor working for Medicins Sans Frontieres was taken by people in military uniform from his hotel in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on Tuesday, his colleagues said. They named the doctor as Mohamed Nayef. It was not immediately clear who had taken him. At the same hotel, where many foreign journalists are based, staff also said a man set off an explosive device at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday at the entrance. A Reuters reporter saw two broken windows and a small hole in the floor tiles where they said the bomb went off.
