Jordan's King Abdullah appoints PM to oversee parliament elections

BEIRUT - Jordan's King Abdullah appointed veteran politician Hani Mulqi as prime minister after dissolving parliament on Sunday, charging him with overseeing elections before the end of the year, a senior political source said.
The monarch accepted the resignation of premier Abdullah Ensour, as is customary under the constitution before appointing an interim head of government to oversee the election.
Parliament had ended its four-year term and the election should be held within four months under the constitution.
