Judge blocks Arkansas law banning abortions after 12 weeks

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A federal judge on Friday temporarily halted a new Arkansas law banning most abortions after 12 weeks pregnancy, which is considered one of the most restrictive in the nation.
US District Judge Susan Webber Wright granted the injunction until the case can be tried in court, noting the ban was "more than likely" unconstitutional.
The Center for Reproductive Rights, the American Civil Liberties Union and the Arkansas chapter of the ACLU filed the lawsuit in April on behalf of two Arkansas doctors who perform abortions in the state.
