Kafr Kana twins survive mother’s leaving them untended in car

A set of 18-month-old twin boys were taken to Emek Medical Center in Afula in good condition on Wednesday after they were left by their mother in her car in Nazareth.
She said she had gone off without them “for a short time.”
The children, who live in Kafr Kana, had fainted from the intense heat. A municipal inspector who noticed them in the door called the police, who extracted them in time.
According to NGO Beterem, between 2008 and 2012, there were 192 reported cases of children being left alone in cars; eight of them died. Last month alone, two children died from hyperthermia after being left untended in their parents cars.
