Kahlon allocates funds to extend security in schools

Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon allocated funds on Monday evening for the extension of security hours for schools throughout the country. Due to the recent terror wave, Kahlon had initially given into the request by local authorities to subsidize security guards in schools until 4:00 PM throughout October and November, and now has extended the funding through December.

Haim Bibas, chairman of the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel and mayor of the Modi’in-Maccabim-Re’ut Municipality welcomed the decision and said, "We turned to the finance minister with the request to add and extend the special funding for security hours in educational institutions in local municipalities and this due to the continuation of the security situation. We praise the finance minister on his immediate response and assistance to ensure the security of citizens of the State."
