Kerry phones Abbas over Israeli-Palestinian tensions

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday evening received a phone call from US Secretary of State John Kerry.
The two discussed the current tensions in the West Bank, according to Abbas’s spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudaineh.
Abbas stressed during the phone conversation the need to “stop Israeli incursions, hand over the bodies of Palestinian martyrs and end Israeli accusations,” Abu Rudaineh said.
The spokesman quoted Kerry as telling Abbas that he would pursue his efforts with Israel to follow up on issues that the two discussed during their meeting in Davos two months ago.
