Kerry says Turkey coup did not interrupt US fight against Islamic State

WASHINGTON, July 17 (Reuters) - US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Sunday the attempted military coup in Turkey on Friday did not interrupt the US fight against the Islamic State.
Turkey, a major US ally in the region, has allowed the United States to use an air base in Incirlik to launch attacks against the militant group.
Those air operations were blocked, at least temporarily, by the Turkish government following the coup.
