Kinneret breaches bottom red line for 1st time this season

The Kinneret’s water levels clocked in at 212.975 meters below sea level on Monday morning, just above the 213-meter bottom red line – the first time during this rainy season that the basin has topped that barrier.
The basin’s level has risen over 11 centimeters from the beginning of the month, according to Water Authority data.
This achievement follows a very rainy January in the country’s North, which featured the longest continuous stretch of rainy days since 1987, and the most rainy days in total since 1947, the Israel Meteorological Service reported.
