Knesset c'tee approves non-ionizing radiation info center

The Science and Technology Ministerial Committee approved the creation of an information center about non-ionizing radiation on Tuesday. The NIS 1-million center will develop ways to reduce the public's exposure to such radiation, which is emitted by cellular and electricity networks and other devices.
"The information center will supply balanced and independent information in response to public concern over the dangers of radiation from high voltage lines, cellular networks and other things. We will put together the center's experts over the next year while the center begins its work," Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan said in a statement.
