Knesset director-general runs for mayor of Upper Nazareth

Knesset Director-General Ronen Plott took a leave of absence Monday in order to run for mayor of Upper Nazareth.
Plott has been in his position since 2013 and has led major projects in the legislature, including “Green Knesset,” to make it more environmentally-friendly, and increasing the number of people with special needs employed by the Knesset.
He was previously director-general of the Public Diplomacy Ministry and the Immigration Absorption Ministry.
Plott said he is running for mayor, because he feels a need to help Upper Nazareth, “an extraordinary city with rare potential that has not been realized.”
