Knesset panel to visit Germany, Poland

A Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee delegation began a four-day visit to Germany and Poland late Sunday night.

The delegation, which includes the committee chairman MK Avi Dichter (Likud), MK Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid) and MK Sharren Haskel (Likud), will meet with the German Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee, Bundestag President Norbert Lammert, the Polish Senate Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and Senate Marshal Stanislaw Karczewski. The delegation will meet with other senior figures in both parliaments, as well as security officials.

The committee has been has kept up a constant dialogue with its German counterpart for several years, and this visit follows a visit by a German delegation in 2016. The visit to the Polish parliament is first of its kind, and its purpose is to tighten the relations between the two governing bodies.
