Knesset speaker stops debate on suspension law

Speaker of the Knesset Yuli Edelstein on Tuesday canceled  debate on a new controversial bill after fierce opposition against the bill arose from numerous lawmakers.
The legislation, which called for the suspension MKs because of “inappropriate behavior” if a special majority of 90 Knesset members voted to do so, was first proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu initiated the bill after members of the Balad faction inside the Joint List party visited the families of terrorist earlier this month.
