Knesset will not delay summer recess in light of protests

The Knesset on Monday decided not to postpone the summer recess in light of mass protests over housing costs.
The request to delay the Knesset recess, scheduled to begin on August 7, had originally come from Interior Minister Eli Yishai.
The Knesset House Committee was expected to vote on the move this week but the subject was taken off the agenda following a meeting between Yishai, Coalition chairman Ze'ev Elkin and Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin.
