Kuwait to deport 60 Lebanese over Hezbollah ties

Kuwait canceled residency for over 60 Lebanese for alleged ties to Hezbollah, a Kuwaiti newspaper reported on Monday.
The Lebanese citizens would be given two months before having to leave and those deemed “dangerous” would have to leave within 48 hours, reported Al-Qabas.
The move comes after Gulf states earlier this month declared Hezbollah a terrorist group.
“The security of Kuwait is a red line that could not be bypassed by any person belonging to parties or holding ideologies prohibited in Kuwaiti society,” said the Interior Ministry’ Assistant Undersecretary of Citizenship and Passports Affairs Maj. Gen. Mazen Al-Jarrah.
He added that a US citizen was also deported.
In recent weeks Kuwait and Bahrain had announced the deportation of other people with alleged Hezbollah links.
