Labor court orders 'sick' railway drivers to return to work

The Tel Aviv Labor Court has ordered 27 Israel Railways locomotive operators who mysteriously called in sick Thursday morning to report to work pending medical clearance from a company doctor, according to Israel Radio.
Eight other drivers presented doctor notices excusing them from work, Israel Radio reported.
The Histadrut labor federation and the locomotive drivers’ union called on their fellow members to return to work. According to Israel Radio, the 35 drivers called in sick to protest Israel Railways management’s decision to use a computerized system of tracking work schedules.
