Labor-Hatnua adds Maj.-Gen.(res.) Eyal Ben-Reuven to list

After adding former Military Intelligence chief Amos Yadlin to its list last week, Labor-Hatnua made an additional move to bolster its defense credentials on Tuesday by adding  Maj. Gen. (res.) Eyal Ben-Reuven to the party's slate of Knesset candidates.
Tzipi Livni announced that Ben-Reuven, who serves as a reserve deputy commander in the Northern Command, will take one of the spots reserved for a Hatnua candidate on the joint list with Labor.
With the announcement that he was joining Labor-Hatnua, Ben-Reuven said, "Israel's citizens deserve more than a leadership that deals solely in scare tactics. They deserve a leadership that acts to strengthen security."
Livni said that Ben-Reuven would constitute "a meaningful addition to our defense team. He took part in Israel's wars and in battles for the security of Israel's citizens."
