Labor party workers joint LGBT strike scheduled for Sunday

Labor party head Avi Gabbay announced that party workers would be allowed to participate in the LGBT community strike Sunday, the Ninth of Av, in the wake of the Knesset's passage of the controversial surrogacy law Wednesday.
"The struggle for full rights for the LGBT community is among the most just that there is. The world is already there, and the time has come that Israel also move in that direction," Gabbay said in a statement released to the press. "It is our obligation to be on the side that strives for love, equality, and sanity. For a normal and progressive state for all its citizens."
