Landau: A wet winter might bring cancellation of Drought Tax

Landau A wet winter mig

A very wet winter could lead to the cancellation of the bill dubbed the "Drought Tax," National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau said on Tuesday morning. The controversial water tax law, which was approved by the Knesset in July and will go into effect in January, will dramatically raise the price of water, when used excessively. "If the forecasts calling for an especially rainy winter prove correct, we will be able to pass on the taxes," the minister said on Army Radio.
