Lapid pledges government assistance to homeowners in south who suffered damage

Finance Minister Yair Lapid on Wednesday pledged government assistance in compensating residents of the south whose homes have been damaged by the barrage of rockets fired by Palestinians in Gaza.
During an appearance before the Knesset Finance Committee in Jerusalem on Wednesday, Lapid outlined the steps the state is taking to alleviate the economic hardships that have been exacerbated by the strife in the south.
The escalating conflict with Gaza has already caused NIS 10 million in property damage, and shuttered businesses across the south.
Since Saturday, the Israel Tax Authority received 99 claims for property damage related to the conflict (35 vehicles, 52 buildings, 12 agriculture-related). Property damage can be reported to 08-6623300.
