Lapid slams Netanyahu for not implementing plan to save Channel 10

Following the temporary Channel 10 broadcasting suspension, Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid slammed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday for acting for personal reasons at the expense of democracy for not implementing a ready plan to save the financially ailing network.
"The Ministry of Finance has a plan that we formulated that would prevent the closing down of Channel 10," the former finance minister wrote.
"All that Netanyahu needs to do is to take it out of the drawer and put it into practice," he said.
"A democratic state requires a strong and free media. Personal political reasons cannot override the need to safeguard a free pree and democratic principles," he added.
