Lapid's party to hold 'junction protest' on burden equality

Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid faction announced Wednesday that its activists were planning to hold protests across the country Friday, calling on the government to enact legislation obligating all sectors of society to serve in the IDF or perform national service.
The activists plan to stand at junctions and hand drivers khaki-colored ribbons and pamphlets describing Yesh Atid's model for equalizing service for everyone.
Yesh Atid founder and chairman Yair Lapid was scheduled to visit activists at Tel Aviv's Hashalom junction and later visit "Camp Sucker," set up by activists at Tel Aviv's Arlozorov Train Station to protest a lack of equality in the distribution of the IDF and national service burden.
The protest comes as the Keshev Committee, tasked with proposing legislation to increase ultra-Orthodox participation in IDF and national service, was set to present its bill in the coming days.
