Lebanese soldier, gunman killed in shootout north of Tripoli

TRIPOLI, Lebanon - A Lebanese soldier and a wanted militant were killed in an exchange of gunfire in northern Lebanon on Tuesday, security sources and a medic said.
The militant, identified as Abdulrahman Tamar, was wanted in connection with deadly battles with the army last October in northern Lebanon.
Tuesday's exchange of fire occurred in the village of Bhanin, northeast of the city of Tripoli.
