Lebanon charges 9 more for collaborating with Israel

Lebanon charged nine people on Tuesday with collaborating with Israel, raising the number of suspects arraigned in the past few weeks to 35, the state-run National News Agency reported. Also Tuesday, an Egyptian man and a Lebanese citizen were arrested on suspicion of spying for Israel, security officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. Spying for or collaborating with Israel can be punishable by death. Military prosecutor Saqr Saqr charged the nine suspects with aiding IDF forces and providing Israel with information about civilian and military positions and political figures in Lebanon, the state agency said, adding that some were charged with illegally entering Israel.
