Liberman appoints Yair Shamir as IAI Chairman

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman appointed two new chairmen to government-owned Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Israel Military Industries (IMI).
The defense minister, together with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, selected former Agriculture Minister and fighter pilot Yair Shamir as Chairman of IAI, and named former Public Security Minister, Yitzhak Aharnovitch, as Chairman of IMI.
"These are the most suitable people for the jobs, and they will march the companies they head forward," Liberman said.
IMI is in the midst of a privatization process, and in January, it became known as IMI Systems Ltd. It will soon be private ownership.
Elbit is one of the main bidders for the company.
