Liberman: Corruption probe against Yisrael Beytenu timed to sink party's election chances

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman lashed out at investigators on Sunday for their "deliberately timed and planned" probe against his party, Yisrael Beytenu, just weeks before the upcoming parliamentary election.
"This is an investigation that was planned to coincide with the election campaign," Liberman said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday. "It's quite unusual that there is move afoot to expand and expedite the investigation against Yisrael Beytenu."
