Liberman: Georgia attack thwarted because we were prepared

Israel succeeded to prevent the attack in Georgia because it was prepared, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman told Israel Radio Tuesday. He explained that this was due to Israel's bitter experience with attacks against Israeli embassies around the world.

Liberman's comments came a day after a coordinated attack against embassy personnel in Georgia and India.

He stated that security for Israeli embassies in countries neighboring Iran is different to security in countries such as Canada and the US.

Referring to the bombing of a diplomatic car in New Delhi a day earlier, Liberman said that terrorists have been trying to carry out attacks in India for a long time. Israel sent representatives to New Delhi to participate in the investigation of the attack, the foreign minister said, and expressed confidence that the findings would expose those responsible.
