Liberman said legal authorities 'extorting, making threats' against party colleagues

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman criticized Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein on Saturday for the manner in which the legal authorities are handling the investigation into alleged acts of corruption by his party colleagues at Yisrael Beytenu.
Liberman told a town hall meeting in Kfar Sava that one of the party functionaries that were investigated had tried to put an end to his life.
The foreign minister said that investigators have used "extortion" and "threats" in an attempt to obtain information from those being questioned.
The Yisrael Beytenu chief said on Saturday that investigators have singled his party out for scrutiny and that the entire probe is politically motivated.
