Lightning knocks out part of supervision tower at Ben Gurion Airport

A lightning bolt struck the control tower at Ben Gurion Airport at about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, damaging some of the supervisory systems, the Israel Airports Authority said.
Despite the damage, no danger occurred to aircraft, as the tower has been working with subsystems and the landing and departure spaces for the planes has increased. As a result, however, both incoming and outgoing flights may experience delays of up to one our, the IAA added."At this time technical staff members are servicing the affected systems," a statement from the IAA said. "As stated, there is no danger or security problem in takeoffs or landings."
