Likud MK Levin: Courts 'tool' of left to harm settlers

Likud MK Yariv Levin said on Sunday that, “The judiciary is being used as a tool to promote the extreme left’s political goals, such as harming settlers," in response to court orders to tear down 160 West Bank homes in the months between Succot and Hanukka.

Levin is working on a bill to prevent the court orders to tear down the homes.

“This isn’t a rebellion or a new declaration,” Levin insisted. “We need to be faithful to the public that elected us. We were voted in on a platform of strengthening, not destroying settlements.”

The Likud MK said he “understands the prime minister’s difficulties, but we cannot accept a policy in which we don’t build, illegal Arab construction is not dealt with, and Jewish homes are destroyed.”
